How to write page ranges
The range field accepts a comma-separated list. A single number ("5") extracts that page; two numbers with a dash ("8-10") extract that whole span; and you can combine several: "1-3, 5, 8-10" generates three files: pages 1 to 3, page 5 alone, and pages 8 to 10. If instead you turn on "one page per file", you don't need to write anything — a PDF is generated automatically for every page of the original, all inside a .zip.
Common cases
Pulling just an ID card out of a multi-page scan, separating a contract's appendices to send them apart, or splitting a digital book into chapters. If what you need is the opposite — combining several files into one — use merge PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I write page ranges?
Separate them with commas: for example 1-3, 5, 8-10 extracts pages 1 to 3, page 5, and 8 to 10, as separate files.
Can I split every page into its own PDF?
Yes, turn on the "one page per file" option and you'll download a .zip with one PDF per page of the original.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser — your file is never transmitted anywhere.
Does the split PDF lose quality?
No, pages are copied as-is, without recompressing.
